our spunky 5 year old

Five years ago today, this little munchkin came into the world...with a calm start and a screaming finish! On Christmas Eve we brought her home. Our family has been so blessed - by creative stories, contagious giggles, leaping hugs, imagination, and compassion. Thank you, Lord!!!

SO MUCH

Allie's baptism!!!! We are SO SO SO thankful for the Lord's sweet mercy in giving her such a curiosity about the Lord from a very young age. And now we get to participate in her making it public! Allie is God's beautiful gift of grace, spirit, and passion to our family. Life would be boring without her. :)
She had specific instructions for the round vanilla cake, and then decorated the top herself.

The new hairdo floating around...both girls love this side french braid. Fun.

Same cows from last year's festival...much bigger girls.
This girl could carry this puppy around all day. Our friends got her recently and she is adorable.

Dr. Pepper museum, Waco, TX!!! Great field trip that ended up with Dr. Pepper floats.

just pics

Very special friends all year...about to move away :(

Allie's CC class giving their final presentation:
Fun with neighbors at a kite festival:
 Lydia's first successful kite flying:
Exciting recital coming up...and some possible bloopers along with it. :) She doesn't like the itchy tops of her costumes, tight up-dos in her hair, and I really don't know how the stage and audience will go over. Suggestions (Allison and Court)?

bold love

Do I treasure Jesus so much that I am filled to overflowing and can give my life away for others?
Read this post on desiring god's website!
"When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay."

Praise you, Father, for your radical care for us when we can offer you nothing, and for your rejoicing when we believe. Read Katie Davis' post about our God, the Healer. (And then read some other posts too...and be encouraged!)

"Love is a tree, each person a branch. And a pile of cut off branches doesn’t make a tree. Love can only be comprehended in community. You need imperfect people in your life to perfect your practice of love." - from Ann Voskamp's post

homeschool days

We have had fun with art lately...being creative with things researched on pinterest. :) I am so thankful for other mom's ideas.

We made homemade paint with corn starch and food coloring.

We also made a melting crayon masterpiece.

The girls cannot get enough of art time.
What other fun things have you done or heard of?
What ways have you supplemented "doing" art with "learning" art and the ways of artists, different mediums, styles, and techniques?
